New Cycling Hub Set to Open in Tongwynlais –via Tongwynlais.com

We have some excellent news, courtesy of Tongwynlais.com. The Ton is getting a cycle hub…

“We want to open a new hub for cyclists, runners and walkers this winter. The hub will offer related clothing, footwear and accessories; bicycle servicing; top quality coffee and other hot drinks and home made snacks; and a unique and sociable environment to share tales from the trails. We hope the hub will further enhance Tongwynlais’ unique location as Cardiff’s gateway to the outdoors.”

Having lived in and around Tongwynlais for much of my life, the Ton doesn’t make enough of the fact that it’s on the Taff Trail and that it has a network of excellent forest trails & bridle paths just up the road. The local pub doesn’t even have any cycle parking, despite it being rammed with cyclists most summer weekends.

Somewhere to grab a few extra inner tubes, a coffee and a cake, or perhaps get your bike checked over before tackling Caerphilly Mountain or continuing up the trail to Brecon should go down a treat there.

Good luck to them and I will be stopping by. It looks like it’ll be on Market Street, opposite the Einon Baptist Church and not far from the Lewis Arms.
